Bogowonto river, the newest tourism destination for water rafting in Central Java. Accompanying three rivers that have been recognized the lovers of rafting before, that is Elo river, Progo and Serayu. Our first event in January 2012, “RUSH BOGOWONTO” has started the adventure tourism at Bogowonto river.
Bogowonto river starting the flow in the western of mount Sumbing. The track of Bogowonto water rafting has length 25 kilometers from Wonosobo until Purworejo. This trip will be held on the lower section of Bogowonto river along 12.4 kilometers, with a duration for 3.5 hours. With medium grade (3-4), beginners can rafting here.
Variatif tracks here. The first 5 kilometers, was a rafting with fast tempo on a narrow river with many rapids that must be passed (rapid session). Nothing the calm flat flow here. Meanwhile, the last 5 kilometers were river rafting in a wide and flat cross section with many points of big and cool standing wave (standing wave session). Which make the journey so impressive is the Bogowonto riverside scenery, so naturally. Dominated by rice fields, forests and hills.

8-8.30 am : drive to starting point, Panungkulan village, Gebang, Purworejo.
8.30-9 am : prepare to raft, warming up, rafting instruction from our guide.
9-11 am : first session rafting (rapid session; 7,6 kilometers).
11-11.30 am : take a rest at Kedungpucung dam (rest area).
11.30-1 pm : second session rafting (standing wave session; 4,8 kilometers).
1-1.30 pm : river rafting has been finished at Tambak bridge, Purworejo, back to basecamp.
1.30-2.30 pm : take a rest, take a bath and lunch at Saga’s restaurant.
Afternoon trip (more difficult because of rain)
12 am : meeting point at our basecamp, Saga’s restaurant, Purworejo.
12-12.30 am : drive to starting point, Panungkulan village, Gebang, Purworejo.
12.30-1 pm : prepare to raft, warming up, rafting instruction from our guide.
1-3 pm : first session rafting (rapid session;7,6 kilometers).
3-3.30 pm : take a rest at Kedungpucung dam (rest area).
3.30-5 pm : second session rafting (standing wave session; 4,8 kilometers).
5-5.30 pm : river rafting has been finished at Tambak bridge, Purworejo, back to basecamp.
5.30-6.30 pm : take a rest, take a bath and dinner at Saga’s restaurant.
